Tease Me

(A Stark International Novella)

by J. Kenner

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author J. Kenner comes a new story in her Stark International series…

Entertainment reporter Jamie Archer knew it would be hard when her husband, Stark Security Chief Ryan Hunter, was called away for a long-term project in London. The distance is difficult to endure, but Jamie trusts the deep and passionate love that has always burned between them. At least until a mysterious woman from Ryan’s past shows up at his doorstep, her very presence threatening to destroy everything that Jamie holds dear.

Ryan never expected to see Felicia Randall again, a woman with whom he shared a dark past and a dangerous secret. The first and only woman he ever truly failed.

Desperate and on the run, Felicia’s come to plead for his help. But while Ryan knows that helping her is the only way to heal old wounds, he also knows that the mission will not only endanger the life of the woman he holds most dear, but will also brutally test the deep trust that binds Jamie and Ryan together.

An Exclusive Interview With J. Kenner:

~ with Jillian Stein of Read Love Blog

Oh, how I love Jamie and Ryan. How do you come up with ways to keep their story fresh and spicy?

With Jamie and Ryan it’s actually really easy. They’re so comfortable with each other, and yet the heat and electricity between those two is off the charts. With Jamie being so open with her sexuality, and Ryan being so damn hot … well, it’s really not hard to write scorching scenes with those two!

I adore Ryan’s pet name for Jamie. Are there any pet names you will never use in a story?

I have to confess, I’m cracking up at this question! My mind is off on things like, “Um, yeah. I’m thinking “Hey, Doggie Poo!” – probably wouldn’t go there!

Seriously, I can’t think of anything off the top of my head.

If you could dream cast them in a movie. Who would you choose?

Ah! Another confession! I picture my characters when I write and never link them to actors or actresses (this makes questions like this sooooooooo hard for me!). So I went to the best source every—the folks in my Facebook Fan Group (the J. Kenner Krew) but even they picture the characters so differently! Jasons (Momoa and Statham) were top picks for Ryan, but folks are all over the map for Jamie. Drop dead gorgeous (the camera LOVES her) with a lot of attitude. I see someone like Angelina Jolie in the early days!

What would we find on your desk right now?

More crap than there should be!

A second monitor attached to my laptop

An iPhone charging stand.

Files

4 pairs of glasses (my eyes are terrible)

An orchid that refuses to bloom again!

A terrarium w/ a cute little plant that is getting too big for its home

A “snow” globe with sand and seashells

A “Write Drunk, Edit Sober” plaque from a writer friend

A paper weight from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that was a gift from the judge I clerked for.

A “How about never? Is never good for you” coaster

A Yeti full of coffee

A To Do list

My car keys

My air pods

A hair clip

Mugs full of pens

A desk lamp

My iPad

A back up drive

A few other things, but it’s starting to sound REALLY crowded!

And about a billion Post-its with notes about the book I’m currently writing.

Is there a genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to try in the future?

I would love to write a GOT-like fantasy novel (have an idea; have no time)

I would love to write a domestic Gone Girl-esque thriller – have some ideas; none that are as twisty as I want.

I would love to write a thriller with touch of romance (as opposed to romantic suspense). Working on that one!

I would love to write a cozy mystery (LOVE cozies as a reader!)

I would love to write YA (I actually HAVE written YA, so I guess that doesn’t count)

So … I guess the answer is “Yes.”

Can you give us a hint as to what you’re working on now?

I’m finalizing Wrecked With You … book four of my Stark Security series! It comes out next month!

And I’m putting together ARCs for the first book in a new ultra-sexy trilogy that’s launching in September that I’m so, so excited about. Here’s a tease:

His touch is her sin.
Her love is his salvation.

Charismatic. Confident. Powerful. Controlling.

… and dangerous.

Meet Devlin Saint this September in My Fallen Saint, the first book in a brand new scorching hot trilogy by J. Kenner, author of the Damien Stark series.
