Where We Came From
Blue Box Press is rooted in a legacy of collaboration and innovative reader engagement. It was born from the same creative ecosystem as 1001 Dark Nights, a groundbreaking publishing project that connected readers with new favorite authors through compelling, world-expanding novellas.
As part of Evil Eye Concepts—whose programs have reached a multi-million-copy, worldwide readership—Blue Box Press was launched to bring that same high-touch, author-centered approach to a curated list of full-length novels. We carry forward the core principles of that legacy: curated discovery, premium storytelling, and lasting creative partnerships, now focused entirely on our expanding catalogue of impactful standalone works.

Meet the Owners
Liz Berry — Co-Owner
As Blue Box Press’s Editor-in-Chief, Liz brings more than twenty-five years of experience in the marketing and publishing fields. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and studied international marketing at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. She also served on the Education Committee for the Smithsonian Libraries Advisory Board and, with her husband, novelist Steve Berry, operates History Matters, a non-profit foundation dedicated to historic preservation. With a background in business and international marketing, she specializes in strategic vision, brand development, and cultivating strong author partnerships.
Jillian Greenfield Stein — Co-Owner
Jillian began with Evil Eye Concepts at the inception of 1001 Dark Nights, building its social media and reader community from the ground up. A digital strategist and content creator, over the past fifteen years, she has developed branding and marketing campaigns for multiple New York Times bestselling authors. Her focus is reader engagement, storytelling-centered marketing, and the creative direction of Blue Box Press. After her college years, Jillian moved to Philadelphia, where she now resides with her husband and son (when he’s home from college, that is).
